Great Point Media adds Gwledd to its sales slate at the American Film Market

The Welsh-language horror film joins company’s wide range of exciting offerings at AFM.

Great Point Media today announced it will be selling world rights at the American Film Market for the trailblazing new horror film Gwledd, the Ffilm Cymru funded feature debut of award-winning television director Lee Haven Jones.

Gwledd (The Feast) is a contemporary Welsh-language horror film with profound insights about revenge, society’s values and the individual’s responsibility to the land. When a young woman arrives to waitress at a dinner party in a remote house in the wilds of Wales, little do the privileged guests realize they’re about to eat their last supper.

Leading the cast are Annes Elwy (Little Women), Nia Roberts (Under Milk Wood), Julian Lewis Jones (Justice League, Mr. Jones), Steffan Cennydd (Last Summer) and Sion Alun Davies (The Left Behind).

Gwledd director Lee Haven Jones has helmed episodes of Doctor Who, Vera and The Bay, among many other popular series, and has won two BAFTA Cymru Awards. The film is written and produced by Roger Williams (BAFTA award winning Bang). It is one of the Ffilm Cymru Wales, BFI and S4C Cinematic feature projects shot in Welsh.

This year’s AFM – running November 6 to 13 in Santa Monica – represents Gwledd’s market debut. It joins an exciting group of titles being handled at AFM by Great Point Media. The company’s sales team will be on the ground with the market premiere of Toronto International Film Festival crowd pleaser A Bump Along the Way as well as a debut promo for contained horror Rose (working title) Sergio Mendes in the Key of Joy, Wildfire and The Last Tree. The team will also be representing a solid and recently announced development slate, which includes Let it Go, Jungle Soldier, Chasing Agent Freegard and the highly anticipated Flight Risk.
