See Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story in cinemas

Steve Sullivan’s inventive and intimate documentary begins previews this month.

Funded by Ffilm Cymru, the film tells the real story of eccentric artist, musician and cult comedian Chris Sievey and his alter ego Frank Sidebottom.

Remembered fondly as the man with the papier-mâché head, Frank Sidebottom was the court jester of the Manchester music and comedy scene for over 25 years. He had his own TV show and played at Wembley Stadium, but only a privileged few knew the man inside the huge head. Through exclusive access to his personal archive and interviews with his family, friends and colleagues, Sullivan pieces together Sievey’s split personality.

Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story celebrated its World Premiere at SXSW in 2018 and will be released in UK cinemas on 29th March 2019 by Altitude Films. Details of preview screenings are below, with further screenings to be announced soon.
